Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
If you keep up with all the news, no doubt you’re convinced our world is complete chaos. If you pay no attention to news, you may be in peaceful oblivion. I don’t advocate for either extreme, but I highly recommend staying fully connected to the One who’s in control of all things. Reading His Word, you will find He is our Strength, our Solace, our Hope, our Shelter, our Refuge. In Him we can fully trust, for He is unchanging, and the Source of peace that transcends all understanding. He wants us to lay our burdens upon Him, since He already paid the price for us.
When those around us are nervous, scared, or losing their minds over the latest events, we can serve the Lord by demonstrating peaceful contentment. And when the question comes – “how can we be so calm in the face of what’s happening in the world?” – we have the opportunity to point them to the One who holds all things together, and offers them hope and peace, through His limitless forgiveness, mercy, grace, and love. I believe as followers of Christ, that’s what we’re supposed to do.
Thank you all for your great example of being praying people. Staying connected to our great God benefits the pray-er as well as those being prayed for. May you be so blessed as you lift up the prayer requests below. Be assured, you are doing Kingdom work, and we are all grateful.
Grace and Peace,
Rick
